We will focus the compositional elements of line, plane, and form combined with neutral tones. We will cover Bauhaus and Constructivist theory as we explore compositional tension and movement created by design. We will also explore subjective timbre and objective principles, including Itten's contrasts of color and how they affect space. Other topics include:
- Weight and position
- Movement and tension
- Negative space
- Subjective timbre
- The color wheel
- Light/dark contrast, contrast of saturation
- Color ladders
- Visual and verbal typographic messages
