This course will help you develop and enhance both knowledge and skills in the editing and production process. It is a state-of-the-art review for practicing editors. Topics include:
- Overview of the editing and production process
- Copyediting vs. substantive editing
- Creating style sheets and query lists
- Review of grammar and English usage
- Working with clients
- Editing unfamiliar material with confidence
Participants receive The Elements of Editing: A Modern Guide for Editors and Journalists or equivalent.
Prerequisites:
- Intensive Introduction to Copyediting
- Substantive Editing I
- or equivalent experience
