Accurate, verbatim transcriptions can be made from professionally recorded digital files (*.wav, *.cda, *.pvc, etc.), standard audio cassettes, and videotapes.
Pricing
EEI charges by the page for transcription services. To ensure fair, consistent pricing, we use a standard page format. For a double-spaced page of approximately 250 words, we currently charge $5.00.
Two hours of recorded audio typically yields 60-80 double-spaced pages when transcribed, and would therefore cost $300-$400. This fee includes transcription, spell check, e-mail delivery, and return of the tapes via USPS or UPS ground. Courier charges are additional. There is a $250 minimum charge for all transcription.

Recording Quality Is a Key to Quality Transcription
Professional recordings yield professional results. Don't skimp on what will be the lasting record of your annual meeting or other event. Use professional recording services or do some preplanning. Recording should not be an afterthought! Obtain a tape recorder that will enable you to monitor the recording level and use a standalone, omnidirectional microphone. If you have a variable-speed recorder, use the standard speed. Do not use microcassette recorders. Microcassettes are best reserved for personal recording and note taking, not professional interviews and group discussions. We hear the results of poor recording frequently and may have to impose additional charges when audio tapes are difficult to transcribe. In some cases digital audio enhancement may be recommended. We will notify you if that is the case.
File Formats
We can deliver transcription in virtually any word processing format. Files can be delivered via e-mail or on disk, with or without hard copy.
